Over the past three decades, the childhood obesity rate has more than doubled for adolescents ages 12-19 and more than tripled for children aged 6-11 years. Today, approximately nine million children over 6 years of age are considered obese.
Family Martial Arts Center provides classes that teach children fitness and well being. Not only are these classes designed to keep participants physically fit, they also teach confidence, coordination, respect, self control, courtesy, and perseverance.
The mission of the Family Martial Arts Center is to teach students “traditional martial arts with a modern approach” as a means to:
* Enhance our community and its citizens through the positive personal development skills of our training.
* Provide a safe haven of positive energy and support for our student's mental and physical growth.
* Instill in our students a "formula for success" that can be applied to positively impact all areas of their life.
* Provide inspiration of personal excellence through our example as students of the martial arts both in and out of our school.
