Testimonials

Our son Tim began his martial arts training as a first grader in 2004 through another Martial Arts studio.  In 2008, we all felt he needed a break from training; his passion for it had seemed to disappear.  When he resumed training at Family Martial Arts Center in 2009 his passion, drive, and confidence had come back and he has strived to become a black belt.  Tim enjoys his training, as he goes to FMAC 3-4 times a week and, with just a little encouragement from his parents (he is in middle school after all) he practices at home.  Tim will become a Black Belt in October, at the age of 11, and he will be proud to wear the words Family Martial Arts on that belt.  As his parents, we are extremely grateful for the training, support, encouragement, and expertise that we have received from FMAC.

My sons have been enrolled in Tae Kwando Do classes at Family Martial Arts for almost three years.  One of my biggest fears as a parent is that my kids will be bullied at school and they won’t know what to do to protect themselves.  Having my sons in Tae Kwan Do gives my boys and me the confidence in knowing they know when and how to handle tormentors at school.  Not only do my boys have the self-assurance to defend themselves they also have the skills to stand up for kids at school that don’t know how to stand up for themselves.  My sons appreciate that with their Tae Kwan Do skills comes an understanding that they cannot sit idly by and watch other kids be picked on and they take that responsibility very seriously.  My sons also have learned a lot about commitment.  Even though sometimes it would be more fun to stay outside and play with their friends they have committed to achieving their black belts and they have learned not to quit because it’s not always fun and games.  For my boys to get their black is a very big deal.  It means they will have the strength and determination to stay with something that will have taken almost three and a half years to accomplish.  It means I can send them into the world on a daily basis knowing they have the confidence to handle themselves as a black belt.  “Black Belt Excellence” means a great deal in our family and we have Family Martial Arts to thank for that.
